ARCH (A Regional Collaboration for Health) is a unique collaboration project between the three partners of Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, Hywel Dda University Health Board and Swansea University.
It spans six local authority areas of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea.

ARCH is a world-class project which has three key aims:
To work together to create:
- A healthcare system fit for the 21st Century
- To drive investment and create jobs to boost economy of South West Wales
- To skill up the next generation of clinicians, researchers, academics, innovators and leaders
The visionary ARCH Programme has already started to develop leading healthcare innovation which will benefit the entire population of the South West Wales region. The programme focuses on the principles of Prudent Healthcare: keeping people healthy and better managing disease when they are ill.
We want to modernise our healthcare system, which remember was set up more than 50 years ago. This will allow us to better meet the needs of our current population which now lives in a very different world.
Innovation and collaboration are they key foundations of our mission statement. ARCH will bring together industry, innovation, academic research and all health sectors to not only improve health and health care in South West Wales, but to drive inward investment and in turn boost the local economy.
